... diet pills weightloss

To help you decide what products you are comfortable utilizing to help you lose weight, I'm going to clarify the different types of diet pills. I'm only going to examine Over the Counter or OTC diet pills, seeing as I have never taken, nor intend to use Prescription Diet Aids. Diet Pills typically fall into the fat-burning, appetite-suppressing, fat blocker, or even carbohydrate-blocker categories.

Fat burners, also known as thermogenics are commonly of the stimulant variety. Ephedra, which was made illegal to purchase in 2004, was usually the main active ingredient in diet pills with thermogenic qualities. Ephedra was highly effective, regrettably if abused, it is also dangerous. While ephedra is prohibited, natural sources of ephedra- such as Sida Cordifolia are still legal to purchase. Also, other stimulants have taken the place of ephedra in diet pills, some proving to be effective- some basicallu useless. Some frequently used stimulants are Caffeine or Guarana, Bitter Orange or Country Mallow, and Heartleaf; among others. Guarana is similar to Caffeine, as Country Mallow, Heartleaf, and Bitter Orange are similar to ephedra. These ingredients have thermogenic properties, which means they aid the body in creating heat- which burns additional fat and calories. The drawback to these fat burning pills are health and safety concerns and also the fact that many people frankly don't like how they make them feel. They can make your heart race, make you feel jittery or edgy, and even interfere with your sleep. These are all things to take into account and talk about with your physician before deciding to go this route.

Appetite Suppressants can either be stimulant based, or be reliant on a substance like Hoodia. Stimulant based appetite suppressants will increase your heart-rate and metabolism and keep you from getting hungry. But sometimes because your metabolism is working in overdrive your appetite actually increases- and for some people that is exactly what occures. Hoodia Gordonii is a very common and prevalent appetite suppressant that has been used in Africa for decades. The issue with this ingredient is that it is difficult to find a pill containing high quality Hoodia- they are out there, just few and far between. Garcinia Cambogia and 5-HTP are also both known to suppress appetite by increasing the release of serotonin. There are certainly many other ingredients all professing to suppress the appetite, these are just some popular examples.

On to Fat Blockers. Oh, Fat-Blockers, how they sure have gotten some negative attention. The concept behind fat blockers is that they will stop the body from absorbing some of the fat from the foods you eat, therefore aiding weight loss. The obvious one to point out is Alli, which is FDA approved and clinically proven to be effective. The problem, which has been regularly publicized is that if you eat more fat than is recommended with these pills, you will experience very unpleasant (but a little funny) side effects. Oily stools, anal leakage.. really awesome and sexy things like that. So if you are going to use Alli, don't cheat on your diet... or suffer the consequences. One would presume Alli would be the absolute most effective diet pill considering that no one in their right mind would eat fattening foods while taking it. So it's a double whammy- effective and a good reason to stick to your diet plan. Chromiun Chelate is also said to help inhibit fat absorption, and to suppress appetite.

Next up, Carb-blockers. Carb-blockers work almost the same way as fat-blockers, except they stop your body from metabolizing a portion of the carbohydrates that you eat. No, this does not imply that you can take a couple carb-blocking pills and then pig out on donuts- they are not THAT efficient. Though that would be awesome. CitriMax, also known as HCA, is the most effective ingredient used in these pills. HCA is also believed to suppress the appetite- another double whammy.

Hopefully this clarified the different types of diet pills now available on the market and will aid you in making an educated decision regarding which diet pillsare best for you.
